Hello, everyone!
Wow, the past few months have been crazy. After having to ditch 40k words of the initial draft of River of Deceit (lolsob), we went from being about a month ahead to several weeks behind as we started over. Add to that working on Drag You Down, and we were in quite the predicament! Don’t get me wrong; both of them has been fun as hell to write. But the pressure has been immense, and we are looking forward to a hard-earned break from writing/editing during August after RoD releases.
We’re working on finishing up our final edits of RoD so your copies can go out on time on August 8th — a week before its official release on August 15th. While I want to try to get VIP copies out earlier like we normally do, we can’t promise anything. We aren’t half-assing these edits because we really want this book to reflect all of the hard work we put into writing it. We’ll be putting the second book on preorder soon for a much later date than we expect to actually have it out, so don’t be alarmed when you see how far out we set it! We just don’t want another situation like this where we’re against the wire.
We’re taking the week off after RoD releases, then we’ll be busy plotting, so new chapters won’t begin coming again until September. We do plan on sharing things throughout August, so there won’t be a total dry spell from content. The Bonus/Ultimate tiers will get things like deleted scenes and potentially a couple flash fics. We’re thinking about sharing some of our favorite scenes from the original draft of RoD, and we have some deleted scenes from Calamity City and earlier books that we may toss up for your reading pleasure as well as some behind-the-scenes peeks maybe?
We are going to have a call with our Ultimate VIPs on August 9th at 1 p.m. (probably via Zoom, though we have to figure out Zoom). I will send out an email with the link when I sort that out.
After our break, we intend to turn around and start an M/M college book (trilogy of standalones? We haven’t decided yet) as well as the second book in the Men of Chaos trilogy. We haven’t begun plotting yet (much); we haven’t had time. So I can’t give you hints or sneak peeks just yet… but just wait.
